A Sense of Place

To me a sense of place is the feeling you get when you're there, the smells that later trigger memories of that place, the tastes, the textures. The little things that give you a true feeling for the place. 

In this photo, for example, you can see the condensation on the glass, you can tell it's a hot day and you get a feeling about the place.

In this photo you can imagine the taste, tastes can trigger memories.

Here, you can imagine the feeling of the bark. You can recall a time you touched it, a time when you got a splinter, a time when you carved your name. 

My Transfers/ Words> Images

For this project we were supposed to make two transfer projects, one with homonyms and one with a word from a given list.

I decided to try out metal transfers. I used metal that I found at a hardware store and coated with transfer coating. The word I chose to use for this project is "Bliss".

I also did Citrasolv transfers and made a book! The homonyms I chose were "beaut" as an abbreviation for beauty and "beaut" as in a high point on a hill or mountain.
